Role Purpose:
We are currently looking for a Security Engineer who can build responsive strategies and possesses a strong background within the security space to create offensive test plans. This position is responsible for keeping critical systems and network devices harden, perform penetration testing, collaborate with operations to improve our detection capabilities and guide DevOps and Software Engineering teams to mitigate identified risk and issues.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide IT and Engineering teams guidance to detect and remediate known vulnerabilities
  • Perform penetration testing on critical application and infrastructure deployments
  • Maintain server hardening requirements and actively monitor critical systems to ensure server hardening controls are applied
  • Ensure security controls are performed as described within the compliance audit
  • Perform security assessments of malicious exploits and impact on the corporate network and devices
  • Develop systems and applications to improve detection of threats
  • Design and build tools and infrastructure to meets security needs and improve security posture
  • Create detailed security reports of results for a variety of audiences
  • Provide architectural design improvements to increase security visibility and reduce potential threats
  • Develop safe payloads and exploits to simulate real threats and determine required remediation
  • Conduct risk analysis and management activities
 
Background, Experience& Qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field
  • Software development experience in either Python, C/C++ or Java
  • 2+ years of experience with vulnerability analysis and remediation
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform
  • Proficient in shell scripting
  • Knowledge of common exploitation, sniffing and spoofing, password attack, reverse engineering and wireless attack tools
  • Experience with the following:
  • Agentless web vulnerability tools
  • Linux, Windows and Mac environments
  • Ansible playbook and automation deployments a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Takes ownership of task
  • Ability to multitask and meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to plan ahead and mitigate potential risk to avoid project delays
  • Understanding of software development process 
 
Other:
Occasional travel to the Datacenter in Santa Clara may be required.
